Can a pulled loop be fixed?

Yes! By retufting which is a process where recycled yarn can be sewn in through the primary and secondary backings to conceal. Alternatively if the pull is too extensive then the damage can be scribed out, new section from spares scribed in, seam sealed then permanently bonded / blended using kool Glide seaming system.

Why have my carpets become loose, warped or bubbled?

I get this asked this on a daily basis and for a very good reason.

The answer is there are no one cause or absolute. Remember your carpets are a textile and so by that definition behave more like a fabric than a hard flooring system. So like a fabric they will stretch over time as would you putting on a pair of jeans and taking them off 20 times.

Wear & tear from foot traffic plus clients innocently dragging furniture across their carpets will cause the backing the stretch & warp.

Relative humidity in the home or moisture from other sources can cause your carpets to relax & expand resulting in bubbling. Skirting boards jammed down on top of your carpets after the original installation may disturb the carpet by bubbling back off the perimeter grippers. Last, poor installation where your carpets where not power stretched to industry standards, sadly many carpet fitters throughout the world only use knee kickers to nudge the carpets onto the perimeter grippers rather than use a power stretching system as stipulated by all carpet manufacturers & Australian Standards.

So when you hire The Carpet Repair Specialist to restretch your carpets you can be assured that our Crain 520 Power Stretching system will be used to get your carpets to the recommended industry & Australian Standards

Can joins be fixed?

Yes! Once faulty join is taken apart and new edge trimmed back, seam sealed then using the Crain 515 double head stretcher and Kool Glide seaming system to claw together and permanently bond to conceal.

I need my carpet repaired however I don't have any spare carpet, can you help?

Yes, absolutely! What I always suggest is to find an inconspicuous wardrobe to take carpet from to carry out the repair. You can go to your nearest carpet retailer to source the same or similar carpet to go back into the wardrobe. If you do this prior to my arrival I will fit this section back into the wardrobe at no extra cost.

My skirting boards have been fitted on top of my carpets, will this be a problem?

Providing I can get the carpet out from underneath then this will not be a problem however if they are jammed down too tight then the skirting boards may need to come off prior to my arrival. An easy way to check is to use pliers to pull up a corner to assess the situation. If you're unsure then I'm happy to inspect this for you.
